Tamdhu Batch Batch Strength #1: Tasting Note

Just like last year we’re going to focus on a few select pours leading up to our SOLD OUT Whisky Jewbilee!

We were very pleased to welcome Tamdhu to their first Whisky Jewbilee last year. So pleased that we posted a tasting note for their very good Tamdhu 10 Year Old (which will be poured again this year). Well, this year they’re back and they’re bringing their new Tamdhu Batch Strength Batch #1.

Like the 10 Year Old we’re dealing with full sherry maturation with a predominance of first-fill sherry in the mix. “Batch Strength” refers to each batch having its own particular cask strength. And “cask strength” is something that makes us smile. A lot! A recent Gold Medal winner at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Expect it to cost you $85-$90 in and around New York.

Color: Deep copper

On the nose: Like sitting in a library on a late Spring day (warm mahogany panels, leather chairs, and warm books) eating a bowl of succulent dark cherries

Flavors in the mouth: More of the warm wood but with rich spice and luxurious dark chocolate

Finish: Long and comforting with ginger and dark chocolate

Wow! How delightfully decadent! This is built to accompany a cigar. Please accommodate responsibly.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you to the SOLD OUT Whisky Jewbilee NYC on Tuesday evening.
